NetMod VPN Client: Protocols and Network Tools

NetMod is a free VPN client for Android developed by Henry Gustian, bundled with an extensive set of network tools. It supports SSH, HTTP(S), SOCKS, VMess, VLESS, Trojan, Shadowsocks, ShadowsocksR, WireGuard and DNSTT, and it is aimed at users who want to customize network traffic, bypass internet censorship and protect their privacy online. Protocol Support and Tunneling

The application includes an SSH client for remote connections and a V2Ray client based on the Xray core. Its SSH SlowDNS (DNSTT) feature enables DNS tunneling, and SSL/TLS tunneling is available for encrypting data. Proxy and VPN hotspot tethering allow the connection to be shared with other devices. Recent updates added Hysteria2 support and upgraded the Xray core to v26.1.23.

Advanced Options

For more experienced users, NetMod supports WebSocket, Cloudflare and CloudFront tunneling, as well as tunneling over VPN. Additional tools include an HTTP payload generator, a host checker and an HTTP response replacer. Multi-profile management allows users to switch between different VPN or SSH configurations.

Network Utilities

NetMod also provides private configuration files, host-to-IP and IP-to-host conversion, and an IP lookup that returns details about a given address. A QR code generator and scanner simplify sharing and importing configuration files. App-specific connection filtering determines which apps use the VPN connection, and penetration testing (pentest) capabilities are offered for identifying network vulnerabilities.

Usability

The interface is designed for simple use, and a configuration can be imported and connected with a single tap, while the full feature set remains available for advanced tasks. Some users report stable performance and a lightweight footprint, while others have reported connection drops during phone calls.
